Teacher’s Note: Why “No Refunds” is Mentioned

You may notice that I mention no refunds several times throughout this website. This is not to be harsh or transactional — Reiki is not a product to be returned if it doesn’t “fit.” Reiki is a sacred energy, a gift that flows through intention, presence, and practice. Once it has been shared, the energy has begun its work, and it cannot be undone or exchanged.

Sometimes, Reiki may bring up discomfort, resistance, or challenge — much like a “tight jumper” that feels uncomfortable to wear. The lesson is not to blame Reiki or the teacher for that discomfort; rather, it is an invitation to look within and explore what needs attention or healing. Just as a jumper may need adjustment, the energy of Reiki highlights areas in life, body, or mind that need care, presence, and reflection. This is often where shadow work and personal growth occur.

For example, when sending Reiki to a situation, it may bring change in ways that feel surprising or even uncomfortable. I recall a student asking me to send Reiki to support her during a stressful period at work. The energy intervened in a way that forced her to stop, rest, and take care of herself — not in a way she expected, but exactly what she needed. While initially uncomfortable, it ultimately protected her health, her wellbeing, and even provided practical solutions she hadn’t considered. This is the nature of Reiki: it works through energy, not through our expectations, and sometimes the guidance it gives can feel challenging.

My repeated mention of “no refunds” reflects respect: respect for the energy itself, for the lineage, and for the sacred exchange between teacher and student. Reiki is a living, dynamic gift. It requires presence, trust, and willingness to engage with whatever arises. When you step forward to receive Reiki training or healing, you are entering into a sacred agreement — one built on mutual respect, integrity, and the understanding that true healing may not always feel comfortable at first, but always serves your highest good.
